LA MADRILEÑA AND JOSÉ ANTONIO MONTAÑO PRESENT THEIR NEW RECORDING PROJECT E-MOTION
The release of the new recording project E-MOTION, performed by La Madrileña under the direction of José Antonio Montaño and featuring the mezzo-soprano Lucía Caihuela, represents the culmination of a long-term project dedicated to the recovery of 18th-century operatic repertoire.
Released by Eudora Records and supported by the Leonardo Grants from the BBVA Foundation, the project presents a wide selection of arias —most of them previously unpublished and written for castrati— drawn from an extensive corpus of operas with librettos by Metastasio, the most influential librettist of his time. The album also includes two outstanding and unique overtures from these operas, likewise unpublished: Demofoonte by Johann Adolph Hasse (1758) and Semiramide riconosciuta by Niccolò Jommelli (1753). The programme is completed with works by other prominent 18th-century composers such as Pietro A. Guglielmi, Luigi Gatti, Egidio Duni, and Leonardo Vinci.
Each of the works included in E-MOTION has been selected as part of a long-term musicological research project linked to the Didone Project of the Instituto Complutense de Ciencias Musicales at the Complutense University of Madrid. Thanks to this work, carried out by specialists such as Álvaro Torrente, Ana Llorens, and José Antonio Montaño himself, it has been possible to recover, edit, and perform a repertoire that had remained largely unknown for centuries.
In this way, E-MOTION becomes a project that goes beyond the purely discographic sphere, acting as a bridge between research and artistic creation, offering a new reading of the European operatic heritage from a historically informed and interpretatively rigorous perspective, while remaining fully alive in the present.

LA MADRILEÑA Y JOSÉ ANTONIO MONTAÑO PRESENTAN SU NUEVO PROYECTO DISCOGRÁFICO E-MOTION
El lanzamiento del nuevo proyecto discográfico E-MOTION, interpretado por La Madrileña bajo la dirección de José Antonio Montaño y con la participación de la mezzosoprano Lucía Caihuela, supone la culminación de un trabajo dedicado a la recuperación del repertorio operístico del siglo XVIII.
Publicado por Eudora Records y apoyado por las Becas Leonardo de la Fundación BBVA, el proyecto presenta una amplia selección de arias —en su mayoría inéditas y escritas para castrato— procedentes de un extenso corpus de óperas con libretos de Metastasio, el libretista más influyente de su tiempo. Asimismo, el disco incluye dos magníficas y singulares oberturas de estas óperas, también inéditas: Demofoonte de Johann Adolph Hasse (1758) y Semiramide riconosciuta de Niccolò Jommelli (1753). El programa se completa con obras de otros destacados compositores del siglo XVIII como Pietro A. Guglielmi, Luigi Gatti, Egidio Duni y Leonardo Vinci.
Cada una de las obras incluidas en E-MOTION ha sido seleccionada como parte de una investigación musicológica de largo recorrido vinculada al Proyecto Didone del Instituto Complutense de Ciencias Musicales de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Gracias a este trabajo, desarrollado por especialistas como Álvaro Torrente, Ana Llorens y el propio José Antonio Montaño, ha sido posible recuperar, editar e interpretar un repertorio que había permanecido durante siglos en gran medida inédito.
De este modo, E-MOTION se configura como un proyecto que trasciende lo estrictamente discográfico para convertirse en un puente entre investigación y creación artística, ofreciendo una nueva lectura del patrimonio operístico europeo desde una perspectiva histórica e interpretativa rigurosa, al tiempo que plenamente viva en el presente.
